Start by measuring the available space
Door swings, columns, sockets and walkways matter alongside usable width and height. Showing fixed features on a simple plan reduces the chance of ordering a shelf that later has to be moved. Check that dimensions are taken from finished surfaces.
Follow the product journey
How does the product move from storage to the shelf? Where does the customer reach for it? How does staff change a label? These questions matter as much as shelf depth and spacing. Consider access when placing frequently used products. Load and fixing requirements need a separate project-specific review.
Cleaning and movement
Access below and behind a unit makes routine cleaning easier. If a mobile stand is needed, consider the doors it will pass through and the surface it will stand on. Castors or a modular structure are not automatically the right answer for every project; selection should follow use.
